Big Time Procrastinator!

So today is the last day i get to enjoy my medical leave before I drag my lazy bum bum down to school...haha!! i've missed a total of 15 lectures and i feel so lazy to go through all of them..I shld start soon!. like today. And oh i havent even started on my dietttt yet..gawd. but my eczema seems to improve a lil...my neck is no longer itching, and so are the fold on my arms...But my ankles r still horrible..i'll upload my pics soon.

I am currently using Physiogel lotion as my moisturiser, and by far, it is the best non-chemical free moisturiser ever!! I am trying to remain as chemical-free as I can, but my skin doesn't seem to accept it. I get skin reaction action when i applied coconut oil/borage oil/shea butter/cocoa butter to my eczema patches. The only  natural moisturiser which works for me is Pure rosehip oil, by A'kin.  2 small bottles cost me ard sgd $48, which is very pricey for me cause im still a student, and i dont earn that much :( I am still using it for my face and neck tho..and the pigmentation from my neck is visibly reduced :) I'll upload my pics soon!!! pfft If only i had the money to invest on pure rosehip oil for my whole body lol!!!...

Anw another powerful natural remedy for eczema  is Pure Aloe Vera gel, straight from Aloe Vera plant. It is good in soothing out the itch. I rmbr one night i was itching so badly, i just rubbed the aloe vera gel on my whole leg and ohh my it neverrrrr felttt that good. But i am too lazy of a person to extract out the gel each time my skin itches :| And i heard u can't keep it for a long time as oxidation occurs as soon as the gel is exposed to the air.

The other non-organic/non-chemical free lotion i tried were:
QV Lotion - Contains mineral oil, one of the bad ingredients for eczema. The moisturising effect is not great and it doesnt control the itch at all.
Skin MD -  Too pricey for a small bottle.
Dermaveen - This is quite okay, I've been using it for awhile, but i find Physiogel way better than this

I am currently using A'kin Sensitive Fragrance Free Body wash and its the best ever! I tried other organic body wash but A'kin suits my skin most! Previously I used their shampoo as well, but like i mention earlier, i can't afford that much..I am always looking out for cheaper alternatives so recently i "downgraded" to Avalon Clarifying Lemon shampoo...Now Avalon is okay, my hair feels clean and all, but its a lil drying.  A'kin is so much better but i cant afford it nouuuuuu!!!

Once you pop, you can't stop

Update!..There goes my anti Candida diet lol

I haven't been updatin for a while..it has been a tough week for me..School started on the 8th of August but unfortunately on the same week, I got hospitalized for cellulitis & bursitis.

On Thursday morning(11 August), I woke up to a painful red swollen ankle :( And no, I didn't fall nor did i hurtt my ankle in any way...I went to the clinic in the morning and the doctor told me that its prolly gout (i never had gout my entire life) or dehydration. However my condition worsen in the afternoon, my temperature went up to 38.5 degrees celcius, and had flu-like symptoms. Worried that it might be a sign of infection, I went to the hospital in the evening.

There, I was told that I need to be hospitalized for at least a day so that they could run some tests to diagnose my condition. After a day at the hospital, doc told me that there's nothing wrong in my blood; no gout, no sign of kidney failure, no infection. However the MRI test result shows that there might be some infection in my ankle area, but it hasn't entered the bloodstream yet. So i was told to eat Anti-biotic (Nouuuuuuuu!) for 2 weeks to see if my condition improves. In the hospital, I was served with food which are totally against the anti candida diet: white rice, potato, stir fried veggie in soya sauce, hot chocolate..I've no choice but to eat cause there are no other food available.

I was discharged on Monday(15 August), but I am on Medical Leave all the way till 22nd. I went to school the very next day, and the swelling worsen due to all the walking(i tink)..pfffffft....And so i decided to fully utilise my leave lol..Oh, My right knee started to give me issues as welll, idk if its related to the cellulitis :(

Gahhhhhhhhhh i feeel like an old woman trapped in a 22 yr old body.

Another itchy day today.

Gosh the itch is more intenseeeee todayy! Im scratching as im updating my bloggg...nouuuu! is it a die-off? Or is my system just super sensitive to everything? My herbalist recommended me to take 6000mg of vitamin C(Ascorbic acid) daily, but i am just afraid I might overdose..

Anyhoos, today I only had a small serving of veggies; stir fried local spinach & snow pea shoot with brown rice and salmon curry....had pancake for breakfast, made with brown rice flour, buckwheat flour and rice milk. Topped it with macadamia nut butter and a dash of xylitol. yummeh..I think i should cut down on my brown rice intake.

My first post :)

Hey hey, this will be my very first post on this blog. (Super lengthy!!! )

Well, basically, the purpose of this blog is to keep track of my eczema progress..  Hopefully with this blog, I'll feel more motivated to stick to my diet, which I miserably failed to keep up with a month ago..

Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is..err..lets keep my identity a secret for now :)..I've been battling with eczema since I was a child. However the eczema patches weren't that bad till I hit the age of 16, where it started to grow on my ankle. What triggered my eczema back then were stress and unhealthy eating habits. At that time, I knew a little about the side effects of steroid so I continued using it when I had flare-ups.

In 2006 (I was 17 yrs old),  my eczema started to grow out of hand. I lost the person I love the most and from then on, my eczema began to rage so badly. My whole feet and my both hands were covered with eczema. It affected my self-esteem so badly that I never stepped out of the home without wearing my full sleeve top and long pants. Steroid did make my skin better for a short amount of time, however, once I stopped applying it,  my skin got even worse than the previous flare up.  I was so desperate for a cure that I began to search  for a quick eczema fix online. It was only then I got to know the harmful side effects of steroid.

I opted for a natural alternative; homeopathy. I was on this homeopathy medication, Reckeweg R23, for 3 months, and it seemed to improve my condition drastically. My hand eczema got totally cured, but the ones on both my ankles remained. It didn't heal my skin any further, and the eczema on my ankle doesn't bother me much, so I stopped the medication. I do get flare ups once every 4 months (between 18 -21 yrs old) but it will usually subside within 2 weeks.

In late 2010 (I was 21 yrs old), I faced various major personal issues and was forced to leave school as I couldn't cope with the pressure (I was in my country's best uni :( ). A month after quitting, my eczema started to rage again; the worst flare up ever. I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar method and took the homeopathy medication, but it made my condition even worse.  My eczema spread from my ankle, all the way up to my thighs. My hands and my neck weren't spared either :( And this time, it decided to stick with me up till today....

After an intensive research online, I concluded that the most important step to cure my eczema is by controlling my diet. Since eczema has a high connection to candida overgrowth (plus I have other symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, frequent headaches, itchy nose and eyes), I decided to go for the Anti-Candida diet(wasn't as strict though), which I managed to stick for about 27 days, before I went back to my old eating habits again!! (1 bag of chips, 1 pack of choc, deep fried/processed/starchy/sugary food everyday)  "Old habits die hard " this is sooo true! hahaha...anyway my skin didn't get better during the diet either, but other symptoms such as itchyness in the eyes were gone!! A few days into my old eating habits and *pooof* the symptoms re-appeared again!!

I was so motivated to go back to the old diet again, so I started off by doing a 1 day water fast, followed by the anti-candida diet the next day. This time, I am following the diet strictly.
Foods to eat: http://www.thecandidadiet.com/foodstoeat.htm
Foods to avoid: http://www.thecandidadiet.com/foodstoavoid.htm.

I am now 7 days into the diet, and my skin starts to itch pretty badly. I feel an increase in my energy level, but my headache's pretty bad  today :( Just hope its a die off. Mood's pretty bad too! Other supplements I am taking are: AMD Syntol(probiotic), Paraway Plus(Just in case i have parasite), Holland & Barrett's Evening primrose.

Warning: THE NEXT PART IS GOING TO BE DISGUSTING, but its the only way to see if my symptoms improve
